About The Position

The Prep Cook is responsible for efficiently and consistently preparing all menu items and specials with great attention to quality, presentation, taste, and all other details. This includes the ability to prepare large orders in a manner that preserves the quality of each plate. The role involves learning and establishing an efficient routine to ensure all prep work is complete to support the Home Cafe during its busiest period, ensuring optimum freshness and avoiding waste. The Prep Cook must be able to effectively make adjustments to provide the best overall dining experience to all customers. This position requires reading recipes and making food according to specifications, maintaining regular and reliable attendance, and developing positive relations with guests and employees. Proper uniform and nametag maintenance is required, as well as wearing a gaming license if in possession. The Prep Cook must maintain a clean workstation and assist in keeping the kitchen clean and organized, alerting supervisors of any concerns regarding food quality, selection, and variety. Duties must be performed in compliance with health standards, the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, and internal policies. Maintaining alertness and awareness of restaurant operations is crucial. The Prep Cook receives training and guidance from the Prep Cook Lead, Floor Supervisor, and/or Kitchen Manager and performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent in education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) or more years of recent and related cooking experience is preferred, specifically within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.

  • Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities and a general awareness of restaurant operations at all times.
  • Receives training, technical direction, and guidance from the Prep Cook Lead, Floor Supervisor, and/or Kitchen Manager.
  • Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
