Under the general supervision of the Pathology Manager or Phlebotomy Supervisor, this role performs a variety of activities including phlebotomy procedures, registration, test orders, specimen tracking and processing. The Lead Phlebotomist Outreach also oversees, schedules, assigns, and trains phlebotomists, and performs clerical and secretarial functions to support the department. All functions are carried out with consideration for the aging process, human development stages, cultural patterns, and patient choice.
