About The Position

Elizabethton Alliance Church in Northeast Tennessee is seeking an experienced Lead Pastor to build on the church’s healthy momentum and positive trajectory. The pastor will cultivate meaningful relationships within the congregation and throughout the downtown community, including with civic leaders, local organizations, and people the church serves. In partnership with the elders, ministry leaders, and congregation, the pastor will discern God’s direction, set goals, inspire participation, and guide any necessary transitions with wisdom, humility, and confidence.

The church seeks a servant-leader who develops and equips others for ministry, encourages and mentors people as they grow in their gifts and calling, and provides clear, consistent, Christ-centered leadership while fostering unity and shared ownership of the church’s mission and vision. The pastor should demonstrate observable Biblical character, love for Christ, compassion for people, deep knowledge of Scripture, and a commitment to faithfully teach and apply God’s Word. He should be humble, prayerful, dependent on the Holy Spirit, and intentional about cultivating a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The candidate must be willing and able to complete the licensing process with The Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). This is an onsite position in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Requirements

• Experienced pastor.
• Man of observable Biblical character with evident love for Christ and compassion for people.
• Deep knowledge of Scripture and ability to teach and apply God’s Word faithfully, clearly, accurately, and relevantly.
• Prayerful and continually dependent on the Holy Spirit, with a genuine desire to seek and follow God’s leading.
• Intentionally cultivates and prioritizes a vibrant, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Willing and able to complete the C&MA licensing process.
• Submit an application that includes a testimony, resume, and other background information related to the position.

• Partner with elders, ministry leaders, and the congregation to discern necessary adjustments and lead the church through transitions.
• Faithfully teach and apply Scripture with clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
• Maintain a humble, prayerful dependence on the Holy Spirit and prioritize a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
