About The Position

Sandhills Alliance Church in Pinehurst, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time Lead Pastor to help grow the church in a rapidly growing community and to disciple and shepherd the congregation toward an outward-focused ministry. The church averages approximately 50–60 people in Sunday attendance and is a friendly, welcoming congregation in a suburban setting. Founded in 1984, the church is approximately 42 years old. The current pastor is preparing for retirement and has guided the search committee in beginning the process of finding a successor.

The community includes retirees, military families, and younger families moving into the area near the church. Pinehurst is known for its golf resort and is approximately two and a half hours from both the North Carolina mountains and shore.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for a Christian & Missionary Alliance license and willing to begin the Alliance ordination process.
• Bachelor’s degree minimum.
• The ideal candidate has five to ten years of experience in pastoral ministry.
• Values humility, integrity, and accountability.
• Good listening and effective communication skills.
• Strong preaching and teaching skills.
• Ability to relate to a multigenerational congregation and people at various stages of spiritual growth.
• Called to minister and grow a congregation.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grow the church in a rapidly growing community.
• Disciple and shepherd the congregation to be outward focused.
• Preach and teach the Word of God from the pulpit, in small groups, and in one-to-one conversations.
• Cultivate enthusiasm within the congregation, delegate effectively, and motivate others to ministry and service.
• Develop local outreach programs.

• Serve with a heart for Christian and Missionary Alliance missions.
