About The Position

Wadena Alliance Church is seeking a Lead Pastor to provide pastoral leadership and ministry to the church. The role emphasizes biblical preaching and teaching, prayer, servant leadership, shepherding and care, discipleship, and mentoring. The pastor is expected to know church members personally, offer appropriate and timely care, and visit members as requested or as the needs of the congregation require. The pastor will also help develop and execute the church’s discipling and mentoring ministries, encourage members in their spiritual gifts, and address conflict when it arises. The Lead Pastor and, if applicable, his family are expected to be involved in the church and to lead or assist with ministries suited to their gifts. The pastor’s wife, if applicable, should be willing to participate in church ministries and outreach as the Lord leads. The position requires licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance. Requirements

At least 5 years of pastoral experience, preferably as a lead pastor.
Demonstrated commitment to discipleship and spiritual growth within the local church.
Ability to edify others in their spiritual gifts.
Organized and able to manage administrative details when needed.
Experience leading and assisting in established children’s and youth ministries.
Knowledge of public, homeschool, and private educational styles.
Willingness to obtain licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance upon hiring if not already credentialed and licensed.

Nice To Haves

Seminary education or a degree in a pastoral ministry discipline.
Credentialed and licensed by The Christian & Missionary Alliance.
Understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

Responsibilities

Preach and teach using the Bible as the complete and inerrant authority as God’s word, making relevant applications between scripture and life situations.
Serve others sacrificially with joy and compassion.
Encourage congregation members to understand and grow in their spiritual gifts.
Pray for the church and its members, including those who come with needs.
Get to know church members personally and provide appropriate, timely care.
Visit church members as requested or as the needs of the church body require.
Mentor others in their commitment to follow Christ.
Develop and execute the church’s discipling and mentoring ministries.
Lead others through conflict and help address it when it arises.
Lead or assist with church ministries suited to the pastor’s and, if applicable, family members’ gifts.
