About The Position

Henry Ford Family Medicine - Orchard View is seeking a Lead-Medical Assistant to join their dynamic health care clinic team in Washington Township, MI. This full-time position (40 hours per week) involves preparing patients for examination, managing clerical duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of clinic activities. The Lead-Medical Assistant will act as a receptionist, medical assistant, or lab assistant as needed, playing a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Requirements

  • Graduate from a CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant Program, or a formal medical assistant program with a minimum of five years of continuous work experience as a Medical Assistant with verifiable clinical experience.
  • Completion of a clinical externship.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care.
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
  • Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.
  • Current BLS-C certificate.
  • One of the following certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMT, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA, or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from NCCT.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a lead or supervisory role within a medical assistant setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting with procedures.
  • Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling correspondence.
  • Support the clinic’s operations by functioning as a receptionist, medical assistant, or lab assistant as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver seamless and compassionate patient care.
