About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports patient care at Henry Ford Family Medicine in Grass Lake, Michigan. Working under the supervision of providers and nursing leadership, the role combines administrative and clinical duties to help deliver quality, compassionate care and support an efficient patient experience and clinic workflow.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Qualify through one of the following: graduation from a Medical Assistant program with a formal clinical externship of at least 160 hours; graduation from a Medical Assistant program without an externship plus at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years; current professionally recognized Medical Assistant certification plus at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience; Licensed Practical Nurse; licensed Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting within the past five years; or military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.
• Successfully complete all components of Ambulatory orientation as defined by Henry Ford Health.

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, providing a welcoming and comfortable experience.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures and assist providers as needed.
• Perform administrative tasks that support clinic operations and patient flow.
