About The Position
Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Family Medicine practice at Lakewood Family Health Care in Lake Odessa, Michigan. The Medical Assistant is part of the clinical support team and works closely with other healthcare professionals to support patient care. Corewell Health operates more than 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, including a range of primary care and specialty practices. The position is full time, with 40 scheduled hours per week. The work hours are variable within 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Corewell Health offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus to external applicants and current CHW MA Apprentice Students only.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
- One of the following certifications required within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
