Lead/ Jockey Driver
About The Position
The Lead / Jockey Driver supports daily warehouse and yard operations by safely maneuvering trailers between designated yard and dock locations. The role includes positioning trailers for loading and unloading, coordinating movements with warehouse staff and management, and helping keep the yard organized and efficient. The driver also conducts equipment inspections, reports maintenance or safety concerns, follows company safety guidelines and operating procedures, communicates with team members, and assists with other yard duties as needed. The position is located in Garden City, Georgia, and pays $21.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 6:50 AM and continuing until finished.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and any required qualifications for operating assigned equipment.
- Ability to maneuver trailers safely in tight spaces.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Previous jockey truck, yard driver, or hostler experience preferred.
