About The Position

The DiSTI Corporation, a leader in graphical user interface software and customized 3D training solutions, is seeking a Lead Instructional Systems Designer. This role involves leading a team of ISDs to create high-quality instructional materials for complex technical systems and products for defense and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to develop effective learning experiences, leveraging expertise in instructional design principles, learning theory, and visual design. Experience with interactive e-learning across multiple delivery modalities and a strong ability to collaborate are essential. Work arrangements and on-site requirements may vary by project.

Requirements

10+ years of direct ISD experience, with 3+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
Academic background in instructional design, educational technology, or related field.
Expertise in multimedia principles applicable to the design/development phases of the ADDIE Model.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences (technical teams, leadership, customers).
Experience working in deadline-driven, high-expectation environments.
Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
Frequently communicates with clients, team members, etc.
Only US citizens are eligible for this role due to contract requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of ISDs, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
Guide project execution by directing team efforts, removing obstacles, and ensuring timely delivery.
Perform work with limited direction.
Apply creative problem-solving to complex instructional design challenges.
Advise project leadership on training strategies, emerging learning technologies, and best practices.
Establish and enforce instructional design policies, standards, and quality benchmarks.
Scale design operations to meet evolving program demands.
Apply instructional design principles and learning theory to create effective training for diverse audiences.
Manage collaboration across a cross-functional team including a large number of Subject Matter Experts (engineers, maintainers, operators) to ensure technical accuracy and instructional effectiveness.
Monitor project health under Project Manager direction, tracking progress against goals, schedules, and budgets; identifying and mitigating risks proactively to keep projects on track.
