About The Position

The Lead ESS Installation Technician performs a wide variety of installation duties on client technology projects and leads and oversees other installation technicians at the job site. This is a key field position responsible for much of the hands-on work in client buildings. The role coordinates with project management, field superintendents, site supervisors, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to understand project responsibilities and deliver the finished systems based on project drawings. Work may include rack and enclosure buildouts, panel terminations, device IP configuration and installation, testing, and troubleshooting. The technician is responsible for the most complex system designs and may serve as the only senior field supervisor on site, delegating work, monitoring others, and communicating with stakeholders on behalf of the project manager. The position requires independent judgment and onsite decision-making, with a project manager and site supervisor generally available for questions. The Lead Technician manages job schedules and materials, communicates issues promptly, maintains project records and inventory, and assists and coaches installation technicians. The role may be performed on construction sites, where employees must follow applicable site safety rules and use required PPE, as well as in normal office conditions when not at a construction site.
