About The Position

The Lead Field Tech Engineer serves as a field engineer for large, complex clients across the company’s products and services. The role performs server and storage break-and-fix work, VIP deskside support, and high-level installations of storage and network devices. It uses advanced hardware, software, operating-system, and troubleshooting knowledge to resolve significant issues escalated by team members or clients. The engineer also tests and certifies mainframes, servers, and other network and peripheral infrastructure.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Generally, 4–6 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Should be eligible for any required U.S. Government authorizations if access to export-controlled commodities or technology is required.

• Technical certification or an associate degree may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a field engineer for large, complex clients and across the company’s products and services.
• Perform server and storage break-and-fix work.
• Perform VIP deskside support activities.
• Use advanced tools and technical knowledge to resolve client problems and conduct high-level installation activities for storage and network devices.
• Apply advanced knowledge of hardware, software, and operating systems, and advanced troubleshooting capabilities, to resolve significant issues escalated by team members or clients.
• Test and certify mainframes, servers, and other infrastructure associated with networks and peripherals.
