Sargent & Lundy•Knoxville, TN
•$118,023 - $180,313•Hybrid

About The Position

Lead project teams of engineers and designers in the design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems supporting nuclear material processing, nuclear waste treatment, storage and disposal systems, and commercial nuclear power plants. The role involves challenging assignments in designing, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving a range of electrical engineering issues. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with a mix of work from home and in the office. The Lead Electrical Engineer coordinates detailed design phases, supports project delivery within schedule and budget, and ensures systems comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. The role also includes preparing and reviewing calculations, design documentation, reports, and studies; working with vendors on equipment and material specifications; independently reviewing others’ work; and mentoring less experienced engineers. Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division supports DOE sites, national laboratories, and NNSA facilities. Its projects include facilities, systems, and equipment for treating, storing, and disposing of nuclear waste and safely handling and processing nuclear material. Employees may use data, automation, artificial intelligence, and other digital tools where relevant, while applying professional judgment and review. The compensation range is $118,023–$180,313. Eligible employees may also participate in a yearly discretionary bonus. The position requires U.S. citizenship; dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
