About The Position

Lead a project team of engineers and designers working on the design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems for nuclear material processing, nuclear waste treatment, storage and disposal systems, and commercial nuclear power plants. The role covers challenging assignments involving design, investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of electrical engineering issues. The position offers a hybrid arrangement with a mix of work from home and office work. The Electrical team lead coordinates detailed design phases across electrical engineering disciplines and helps ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget. The role also includes coordinating systems design for compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements; preparing and reviewing technical calculations and documentation; working with vendors on equipment and materials specifications; and reviewing others’ engineering work. The position includes mentoring less experienced engineers and contributing to peer learning through Sargent & Lundy’s processes and Communities of Practice. Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division provides engineering design and consulting support to U.S. Department of Energy sites, national laboratories, and National Nuclear Security Administration facilities. The work supports environmental cleanup of the legacy nuclear weapons production complex and preservation of the nation’s nuclear deterrent, including facilities and systems for treating, storing, and disposing of nuclear waste and safely handling and processing nuclear material. The listed compensation range is $134,546–$205,557. Eligible positions include a base salary or hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package; employees may also be eligible for a yearly discretionary bonus.
