Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in processor design, digital-analog circuit design, motor control circuits, or related fields.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a leadership position with experience successfully leading a project from start to finish.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken.
  • Ability to lead group discussions.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Experience with cost and schedule management.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including PSPO, Management 3.0, Scrum and Agile at scale.
  • Knowledge and experience with tools or languages such as Excel, Python, JIRA and MS Project.
  • Ability to coach and supervise a team.
  • Understanding of electronic circuits and various communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of printed circuit board PCB manufacturing processes.
  • Experience developing complex circuit architectures and supervising multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, electronic boards and electronic units.
  • Foundational understanding and exposure to RF circuit design, high-speed signal processing and motor control.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, ideally in English and French.
  • The successful candidate must be able to obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP), which requires Canadian Citizen or valid PR holder status.

  • Knowledge of radiation effects on components in aerospace environments.
  • Experience with high-speed telecommunication systems, processors, mass storage, satellite systems or aerospace systems.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a design team responsible for complex digital-analog units for aerospace products.
  • Coordinating a multidisciplinary team with expertise in areas such as RF, systems, power, digital, signal processing, manufacturing, structures, packaging, EMC and thermal.
  • Leading the team according to defined schedules, costs and requirements.
  • Planning team tasks and deliverables, as well as the various technical reviews.
  • Following up on component procurement and production to meet schedules and cost targets.
  • Establishing team priorities to meet defined objectives.
  • Ensuring clear communication and understanding of programmatic aspects of the program within the technical team.
  • Managing subcontractors and supporting bids for new business opportunities.
  • Ensuring effective communication of technical resource needs.
  • Ensuring the team applies required quality standards and follows the company’s business processes.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and new engineering initiatives.
  • Coaching junior team members and new employees.
  • Coordinating with technical leads to convert system requirements into electronic unit requirements.
  • Collaborating with project managers and overseeing aspects of production.
  • Contributing to risk management throughout the mandate.
