About The Position

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing New Product Development (NPD) programs to introduce and launch strategic Transportation and Signage products for growth in the North America market and sustain these existing product lines. You will lead global cross functional teams including Technology, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Product Management and Finance to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with competitive features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, Engineering Management, or other related degree
  • 5+ years combined experience in program management/ product development in engineering
  • Broad knowledge base in electrical and mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated inclusive behavior with strong ability to connect with and influence team members
  • Fluency in English is essential for effective communication with international stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge in lighting fundamentals, LED systems or electronics
  • Experience in LED fixture design and launches
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Six Sigma background
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under limited supervision
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred
  • Proficiency in French is preferred, especially for roles involving frequent interaction with local clients and partners in Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Launch projects on time, hitting all key milestones and commercial launch date
  • Create clear, concise communications of goals, objectives, and project status through regular project meetings, NPD Pulsing and Milestone Reviews
  • Own product and project documentation
  • Oversee, direct, and participate in Product Development deliverables
  • Proactively communicate and resolve issues
  • Work with commercial team to Interface with customers regarding Voice of the Customer input
  • Partner with Quality, Manufacturing and Sourcing Teams to interface with suppliers
  • Proactively identify the program’s technical and financial risks in order to develop mitigation plans
  • Drive projects to completion following Current’s established NPI and PLM processes
