About the position
The job overview for this position is that MerchantE is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join their company. The Lead will be responsible for leading the DevOps team and mentoring other DevOps engineers. They will also be responsible for creating, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure within their AWS accounts, implementing automated application releases, and monitoring application and infrastructure performance. Additionally, the Lead DevOps Engineer will be involved in infrastructure quality assurance efforts and supporting technical security-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the DevOps team and mentor other DevOps engineers
- Create, deploy and maintain infrastructure within our AWS accounts, using IAC/Terraform, and utilizing various AWS services, including EC2, EKS, RDS, RedShift, S3, and IAM.
- Create, implement and maintain automated application releases using Bitbucket Pipelines.
- Create, implement and maintain application and infrastructure performance monitoring using Splunk or Prometheus/Loki/Grafana.
- Perform infrastructure quality assurance efforts.
- Develop and maintain documentation on DevOps processes and procedures.
- Implement and support procedures around technical security related activities such as vulnerability scanning, user access, analysis of security monitoring outputs, and coordination of remediation activities.
- Advise management of problems or conflicts; escalate critical matters.
Requirements
- Lead the DevOps team and mentor other DevOps engineers

- 8+ years' experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps activities.
- US work authorization required (No H1B or F-1 visa sponsorship available).
