About The Position

The Lead Compounder works on the second-shift team at Perrigo’s Bronx facility in a union position. The role compounds batches from copies of master formulas and provides directions to operators and compounders. It involves weighing raw materials, monitoring batch procedures, setting up and operating manufacturing equipment, moving materials, completing batch records and log entries, and ensuring work is properly completed in accordance with instructions, SOPs, safety rules, and company policies.

Requirements

Must be able to read English.
Must be able to sign batch records and make log entries after each step as required.
Must be able to lift materials or equipment weighing 25–50 lbs.
Must be able to wear a full- or half-face respirator.

Nice To Haves

One year of compounding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Compound batches from copies of master formulas and give directions to operators and compounders.
Follow written instructions and all manufacturing and compounding SOPs.
Complete equipment setups for manufacturing.
Weigh raw materials and monitor batch procedures and processing.
Set up and operate various kettles and pumps.
Move materials to and from the compounding and suppository areas.
Sign batch records and make log entries as required.
Clean equipment, containers, and work areas as needed, following appropriate cleaning procedures.
Cooperate with QA inspectors.
Maintain the operating schedule.
Maintain professional working relationships with division employees, managers, and supervisors.
Follow safety rules, company policies, and procedures.
Ensure water requirements are obtained as needed.
Review compounder and setup-operator activity to ensure work is properly completed.
Complete sign-offs as required by SOPs.
