About The Position

The Compounder - Batch Processing Technician provides a continuous flow of product to the production processing line and packaging department. The role involves preparing and mixing batches of personal care products according to computer-generated formulations and production schedules, safely handling hazardous materials, and operating area equipment. The Compounder supports production continuity, job changeovers, sanitation, troubleshooting, and end-of-day plant shutdown procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience handling hazardous materials.
• Good math and basic computer skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot.
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to contribute.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Some college or technical schooling.

Responsibilities

• Perform batch let-down and mixing procedures according to computer-generated job formulas and special instructions.
• Prepare batches of personal care products according to printed formulations and production schedules.
• Provide production line personnel with a smooth, continuous flow of product.
• Keep the Supervisor informed of changes to the daily production schedule as they occur.
• Clean and set up scheduled jobs, including cleaning mixing tanks, pumping products from tanks, flushing product lines, and preparing for the next job.
• Coordinate sanitation tasks, including cleaning tanks, totes, pumps, and other items as needed or directed by the area Lead or Supervisor.
• Communicate applicable special instructions, including cleanup requirements, to production line fillers.
• Handle hazardous waste according to established procedures in the Hazardous Waste Manual.
• Maintain bulk retains, including proper labeling and filing.
• Advise the Plant Supervisor when area consumable supplies need replenishment.
• Perform setup and line conversions and provide troubleshooting support as needed.
• Perform duties related to end-of-day plant shutdown procedures.
• Perform other related duties and assist other departments as assigned.
• Rotate onto the production line during breaks and lunches as needed.
• Work overtime in the immediate area or other company areas as needed.
• Promote a positive culture of respect and teamwork through words and actions.
