Rubber Compounder - 2nd Shift

About The Position

Callaway Golf Company is a premium golf equipment, gear, and apparel company with global brands including Callaway Golf, Odyssey, TravisMathew, and OGIO. The Rubber Compounder supports rubber mixing, extrusion, and molding operations by preparing and tracking ingredients and rubber stock, handling samples for quality testing, and moving materials and preforms through production processes. The role also assists milling and extrusion operators, works toward process-efficiency improvements, and follows safety requirements, PPE, and standardized processes. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one to three years of related experience and/or training in the field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Ability to solve problems independently.
Ability to make decisions independently.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to read and write through various means of communication.
Understanding of mechanical concepts related to manufacturing.
Basic understanding of math concepts.

Responsibilities

Scan raw material usage by weight and lot number.
Stage and sequence ingredients for use in mixing equipment.
Use a two-roll mill to post-mix rubber stock discharged from the mixer.
Gather, blend, and extrude pre-qualification rubber stock samples for quality testing and measurement.
Deliver preforms to the appropriate molding cell.
Weigh and label rubber stock before transferring it to a conditioning room.
Retrieve rubber stock from the conditioning room and deliver it to the designated extrusion process.
Retrieve preforms from extrusion, label the product, report production, and stage it for delivery to core molding.
Gather and process samples as cores for submission to the quality lab as part of blend pre-qualification.
Assist milling and extrusion operators with miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Work toward improvements in process efficiency.
Work safely while following PPE requirements and standardized processes.
Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
