About The Position

Perrigo is seeking a Lead Compounder for its third-shift team at its facility in Bronx, New York. This is a union position paying $25.00 per hour, with a 5x8 schedule from Sunday to Friday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The Lead Compounder compounds batches using copies of master formulas and gives directions to operators and compounders. The role includes weighing raw materials, monitoring batch procedures, setting up and operating kettles and pumps, moving materials to and from the compounding area, signing batch records, and making log entries. The employee follows written instructions, SOPs, safety rules, and company policies and procedures while maintaining the operating schedule and professional working relationships.

Requirements

Must be able to read English.
Must be able to sign batch records and make log entries after each step as required.
Must be able to lift materials or equipment weighing between 25 and 50 pounds.
Must be able to wear a full-face or half-face respirator.

Nice To Haves

One year of compounding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Compound batches from copies of master formulas and give directions to operators and compounders.
Follow written instructions and all SOPs for manufacturing and compounding.
Set up equipment used for manufacturing.
Clean equipment, containers, and work areas as needed, following appropriate cleaning procedures.
Weigh raw materials, monitor batch procedures, operate kettles and pumps, and move materials to and from the compounding or suppository area.
Sign batch records and make log entries after required steps.
Cooperate with QA inspectors.
Maintain the operating schedule.
Maintain professional working relationships with division employees, managers, and supervisors.
Follow safety rules, company policies, and procedures.
Ensure water requirements are obtained as needed.
Monitor batches during processing and ensure they are manufactured properly.
Review compounders' and set-up operators' work to ensure it is completed properly.
Complete sign-offs required by SOPs.
