About The Position

The Compounder I works in International Paper’s ink department at its Marysville, Ohio location on the third shift. The role makes production inks, checks ink quality before inks go to press, stages inks for upcoming orders, adjusts inks for press use, and works with obsolete and overstock ink inventory. It also involves chemical handling and moving drums.

The position performs regular maintenance and cleaning of the ink kitchen, QC equipment, hand and automatic proofers, and pumps. The employee maintains general housekeeping, uses a power floor cleaner, participates in safety activities, leads by example in safe work practices, and may take on additional ink department projects or other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Goal oriented.
• Good communication skills.
• Good math skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must obtain forklift certification within 90 days of the start date.

Responsibilities

• Make production inks.
• Perform quality control on all inks going to press.
• Stage inks for upcoming orders.
• Move drums.
• Adjust inks before they are run on press.
• Work with obsolete and overstock ink inventory.
• Handle chemicals.
• Regularly maintain ink kitchen and QC equipment.
• Clean and maintain hand and automatic proofers.
• Clean and maintain pumps and the ink kitchen.
• Perform general housekeeping.
• Use a power floor cleaner.
• Be available for additional ink department projects.
• Lead by example and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Actively participate in the Safety Observation process.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
