About The Position

We are seeking a Lead AV Service Technician who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and enjoys being the person clients rely on when systems aren't performing as expected. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician with experience supporting both residential and commercial AV environments. You'll serve as a senior technical resource responsible for diagnosing issues, performing advanced troubleshooting, mentoring team members, and ensuring clients receive an exceptional service experience. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, enjoys problem-solving, communicates effectively with clients, and can confidently navigate a wide variety of technology platforms and environments. Whether it's a networking issue affecting an entire system, a control platform requiring reconfiguration, or an AV component that needs replacement, you'll take ownership of finding the solution.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of AV, automation, networking, or related service experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across AV, control, automation, and IP-based systems
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including routers, switches, wireless systems, and IP troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple service priorities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to remain calm and solution-focused in challenging situations
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and in various jobsite environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting both residential and commercial technology environments strongly preferred
  • Experience with platforms such as Control4, Savant, Lutron, Alarm.com, Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, or similar technologies is highly desirable
  • Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and remote service support for residential and commercial AV, automation, and networking systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across integrated technology environments
  • Troubleshoot control systems, audio/video equipment, networking infrastructure, surveillance systems, and related technologies
  • Perform system maintenance, repairs, equipment replacements, and firmware updates
  • Make programming adjustments and system modifications as needed
  • Serve as a technical leader and escalation resource for service-related issues
  • Mentor and support junior technicians through knowledge sharing and field guidance
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding system issues, resolutions, and recommendations
  • Document service activities, findings, and resolutions accurately
  • Coordinate with service management and project teams to ensure successful issue resolution
  • Maintain company standards for quality, professionalism, and customer satisfaction
