About The Position

The Lead Alterations Specialist completes fittings and alterations to David’s Bridal standards and provides friendly, knowledgeable, technically skilled customer service. This member of the store team represents the David’s Bridal brand and reports to the Store Manager. The role also supports customers and stylists with consultations about gown fit, customization, alterations, and personalization options, and helps maintain a high-quality customer experience.

Requirements

Prior sewing experience is required; bridal and/or special occasion production experience is preferred.
One to two years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
Prior experience with a computerized POS system and the ability to use one.
High school diploma or degree.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate with and hear customers.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to see at close and far distances, use peripheral vision and depth perception, and use a computer and other electronic devices for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers in person and by phone with friendly enthusiasm; communicate clearly, adapt to customers’ needs, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
Respond promptly to customer questions by providing product and service information.
Make clientele calls to maximize appointments and build customer loyalty.
Serve as Floor Manager during peak sales periods and provide fit and alterations consultations.
Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers about gown fit and customization.
Explain how alterations can perfect a dress for the customer’s event in partnership with Alterations; promote alteration services and personalization options.
Lead and oversee alterations fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments to company standards.
Maintain quality control guidelines and inspect altered, steamed, and pressed garments to verify they are in pristine condition before delivery.
Train Alterations Specialists in fitting and sewing techniques.
Ensure ongoing product education for Alterations team members.
Communicate daily sales goal achievement to the Store Manager.
Use approved systems and processes to manage customer flow and deliver a 5 Star Customer Experience.
Maintain high dress code standards.
