Alterations Specialist
About The Position
Benzinger’s Clothing Care is seeking a skilled and motivated Alterations Specialist with sewing experience and a passion for customer care. The role involves completing basic to moderately complex garment and household-item repairs and alterations, assisting with fittings, and working with customer service staff to support client satisfaction. The specialist will operate sewing and pressing equipment, document alteration instructions, provide repair estimates, and maintain quality, fit, and proportions. The company describes a collaborative team environment and encourages learning and growth into a specialist role. Sewing hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Part-time and full-time options are available.
Requirements
- Experience with sewing tools and machines.
- Ability to perform basic to intermediate alterations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn more advanced techniques and grow into a specialist role.
Responsibilities
- Complete basic to moderately complex repairs and alterations on garments and household items.
- Assist with fittings and take accurate measurements.
- Operate sewing machines, manual tools, and pressing equipment.
- Record and interpret alteration instructions in the company system.
- Collaborate with customer service staff to ensure client satisfaction.
- Provide accurate cost estimates for repairs.
- Maintain quality, fit, and proportions in all alterations.
