Lead Aftercare Teacher
About The Position

We are looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring Lead Aftercare Teacher to lead our school-age Aftercare program and create a safe, structured, and fun afternoon experience for our children. Utilize TLE's technology, materials, curriculum resources, and engaging learning spaces to help children “learn, play, and grow.”
Requirements
- Genuine passion for working with and educating children.
- Dependable, responsible, energetic, and comfortable taking the lead in a classroom.
- Comfortable walking locally to pick up children from area schools.
- At least six months of professional teaching/childcare experience.
- High school diploma/GED (required).
- Can meet all applicable background screening and state licensing requirements.
Nice To Haves
- One year or more of professional teaching/childcare experience is preferred.
- An Associate degree or higher in ECE, Education, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Walk to local Hoboken schools to safely pick up children and escort them back to the center.
- Lead the daily Aftercare classroom routine from 2:00 PM–7:00 PM.
- Provide homework assistance and academic support to school-age children.
- Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans, projects, games, and activities.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and positive classroom environment.
- Supervise children during transitions, activities, snack, homework, and play.
- Build positive relationships with children and help make Aftercare something they look forward to each day.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families about their child's afternoon.
- Work closely with the leadership team and fellow teachers to ensure a smooth and successful Aftercare program.
- Follow all TLE policies, procedures, and applicable state licensing and safety requirements.
