About The Position

Performs general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, free from offensive odors. The position ensures clean, serviceable linens and clothing are processed and delivered to residents, while following sanitary procedures and using laundry equipment safely. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

GED or high school diploma.
Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
Basic math skills.
Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Regularly able to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Make clean linen available in quantities sufficient for residents’ care and comfort.
Maintain linens in good repair and remove linens with holes or stains from service.
Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
Label new residents’ clothing items as needed.
Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms.
Follow sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
