About The Position

The Laundry position ensures residents have clean linen for their care and comfort. The employee maintains linen in good repair, removes stained or damaged items from service, collects and labels residents’ laundry as needed, processes clothing and linens, and delivers clean items to residents’ rooms. The role follows sanitary procedures, maintains an inventory of laundry supplies, uses laundry equipment safely, and reports equipment issues to the Administrator. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

GED or high school diploma.
Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
Basic math skills.
Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.
Frequently use industrial washers, dryers, and related laundry or housekeeping equipment.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Make clean linen available for residents’ care and comfort.
Maintain linen in good repair and remove items with holes or stains from service.
Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
Label new residents’ clothing items as needed.
Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
Deliver clean laundry items to residents’ rooms.
Follow sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
