Laundry Driver / Laundry Attendant
About The Position
The Driver-Laundry transports linens, laundry, and supplies between hotel properties, laundry facilities, or other designated locations safely, promptly, and professionally. The role supports the laundry and housekeeping teams through efficient pickup, delivery, and careful handling of items, while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and following safety guidelines. When not transporting linen, the employee works as a Laundry Attendant. Half of the shift is coded as driver at $20 per hour and half as Laundry Attendant at $18 per hour. The position is in the Housekeeping department, exercises no supervision, and reports to the Executive Housekeeper. The hotel is Tempo by Hilton Downtown Nashville, a 306-room property with 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space and amenities including restaurants, a social lounge, a rooftop outdoor pool with bar, a fitness center, and concierge service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-service abilities.
- Ability to follow routes, instructions, and safety procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and load and unload items throughout the shift.
Nice To Haves
- Prior driving, delivery, or transportation experience.
- Hospitality or laundry operations experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport linens, laundry, and supplies between hotel properties or laundry facilities.
- Load and unload laundry carts, bags, and supplies efficiently and carefully.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized, and report maintenance needs.
- Assist laundry and housekeeping teams with handling and organizing linen as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and mileage.
- Follow company, brand, and safety guidelines, including lifting procedures.
- Interact professionally and courteously with staff and vendors.
- Ensure items are securely and properly handled during transport.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Work as a Laundry Attendant when not transporting linen.
