About The Position

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner and free from offensive odors. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities may be assigned or reassigned by management and may change due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. The description outlines the general nature and level of the work and is not a complete list of all duties or required skills.

Requirements

GED or high school diploma.
Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
Basic math skills.
Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Make clean linen available in sufficient quantities for residents’ proper care and comfort.
Maintain linen in good repair and remove items with holes or stains from service.
Collect residents’ laundry daily or as needed.
Label new residents’ clothing items as needed.
Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms.
Follow sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
