About The Position

The Laundry position supports the care and comfort of residents by keeping clean linen available and in good repair. Duties include collecting and processing resident clothing and linens, delivering clean items to resident rooms, maintaining laundry supplies, following sanitary procedures, and using laundry equipment safely. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make clean linen available for the proper care and comfort of all residents.
• Maintain linen in good repair and remove items with holes or stains from service.
• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Label new residents’ clothing items as needed.
• Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms.
• Follow all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
