About The Position

Maya Hotels is seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented Laundry Attendant for the Hilton Garden Inn Gastonia. The role ensures hotel linens and guest laundry services meet the hotel’s standards for cleanliness and presentation. The attendant processes linens, uniforms, towels, and other laundry items; operates industrial laundry equipment; treats stains; folds and packages finished items; maintains inventory; and checks quality. The role also involves following safety, sanitation, and hotel procedures, reporting equipment or maintenance issues, and coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance. Additional job-related duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to identify stains, damage, and quality issues in linens.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift and carry heavy laundry items, and work in warm conditions.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with hotel staff.
• Basic communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions such as folding and loading and unloading machines.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in laundry operations or a similar role.
• Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment, stain removal techniques, and laundry chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Sort, classify, and process linens, uniforms, towels, and other laundry items according to established guidelines.
• Inspect items for stains, damage, or repairs needed before laundering.
• Operate industrial washing machines, dryers, pressers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload laundry, adjust machine settings, and use laundry chemicals according to proper procedures.
• Identify and treat stains using appropriate techniques and products.
• Fold, stack, and package laundered items according to hotel standards.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of linens, uniforms, and laundry supplies, and report shortages or damages to the supervisor.
• Inspect finished laundry to ensure it meets quality standards and replace or repair worn or damaged items as necessary.
• Follow safety protocols and report malfunctioning equipment or maintenance issues.
• Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams, and assist with other housekeeping tasks during peak periods as needed.
• Follow hotel policies and procedures for lost and found items, confidentiality, and sanitation.
