About The Position
This role involves tending to laundering machines to wash various articles including sheets, blankets, pillow coverings, towels, wash clothes, aprons, mop heads, and personal items of residents. The attendant will load articles into the washer, follow machine-specific programs, and transfer clean, wet articles to dryers. Responsibilities also include sorting, folding, and storing clean laundry, and returning personal laundry to residents' rooms. Occasional use of a step-ladder may be required.
Requirements
- Previous industrial housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Tends laundering machines to wash sheets, blankets, pillow coverings, towels, wash clothes, aprons, mop heads, and personal articles of residents.
- Loads articles into washer and follows machine specific programs.
- Lifts clean wet articles from washer and places them into hamper to transport to dryers for measured time cycles.
- Sorts, folds articles and places items in the appropriate storage bin and linen closets.
- Is responsible for returning clean personal laundry to resident’s room.
