About The Position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining standards of quality and cleanliness throughout daily assignments in the laundry department. This role involves operating laundry and dry cleaning machinery, processing various linens and garments, and ensuring guest satisfaction through timely service and attention to detail. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and hotel policies, as well as cooperation with management and colleagues.

Requirements

Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
Knowledge of laundry/dry cleaning equipment and chemical handling.
Knowledge of finishing techniques for all types of fabrics.
Observes all house and safety rules, housekeeping room procedures, and security procedures.
Uses correct cleaning chemicals, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
Uses correct personal protection equipment in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

Process all bed linens, terry, and table linens by operating all laundry/dry cleaning machinery in accordance with hotel's standards.
Clean, press and finish staff and guest garments, as well as designated guest room fabrics and articles.
Sort, pretreat, wash, dry, iron, and fold linens.
Inspect linens for tears and/or stains and reject or reclaim them.
Mend and sew linens.
Fill banquet and restaurant linen requisitions.
Deliver guest service supplies to guest rooms.
Process contract-cleaned linens.
Restock housekeeping closets and carts.
Provide towel service to recreation areas.
