About The Position

The Laundry Attendant operates laundry equipment and processes linens and towels. The role includes sorting, feeding, pulling, catching, folding, stacking, and bundling linens; loading towels onto carts; stocking shelves; maintaining inventory counts and records; and assisting as a washer/sorter when requested. The position also provides customer service and works harmoniously with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Ability to use equipment associated with the position, including a flatwork ironer and towel-folding machine.
• Ability to inspect laundry items, maintain inventory control, and perform associated recordkeeping.
• Ability to move around the laundry area effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to twist and lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull loads of up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service and handle difficult customer interactions while working harmoniously with coworkers.
• Operate a flatwork ironer; sort, feed, and pull linens; catch, fold, stack, and bundle linens using a tying machine.
• Sort and load towels onto linen carts.
• Stack linens onto shelves.
• Maintain inventory control, item counts, and associated records.
• Assist as a washer/sorter when requested.
