About The Position

The Laundry Aide supports residents and staff by maintaining a consistent supply of clean, well-maintained linens. The role contributes to infection control and helps provide a safe, comfortable, home-like environment for residents in a skilled nursing community. Duties include processing linens and clothing, completing related cleaning assignments, using laundry equipment safely, and keeping the laundry area clean and organized. The position involves regular interaction with residents, staff, and visitors and requires following confidentiality, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements

Grade school education required.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers.
Ability to follow supervisor instructions safely and efficiently.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and quality standards.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and change positions frequently.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive motions related to sorting and folding laundry.

Responsibilities

Maintain an adequate linen supply for resident care and daily operations.
Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and clothing.
Follow company policies and procedures for cleaning and laundry services.
Perform cleaning assignments related to laundry operations as assigned.
Use laundry equipment safely and properly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
Report equipment malfunctions and supply needs to the supervisor.
Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff.
Maintain resident confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
Follow infection control and safety protocols, use required PPE, and comply with applicable regulations.
Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation.
Participate in company drug testing procedures.
