About The Position

The Laundry Aide helps maintain a clean, sanitized facility and a professional, comfortable atmosphere for residents. The role performs routine, repetitive laundry and cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including processing and delivering residents’ clothing and linens and cleaning resident and common areas. The position also involves other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Sort items to be laundered.
Load articles into washing machines and start wash and rinse cycles.
Transfer clean, wet articles from washers into laundry carts and dryers.
Start dryers for measured time cycles.
Fold and sort dried articles by resident name, ID number, or room number.
Place residents’ clothing on hangers and put other items in appropriate storage bins or sorters.
Deliver clean clothing to residents’ rooms.
Sort and count linens, towels, washcloths, clothing protectors, and other articles to verify quantities.
Soak contaminated articles in neutralizer solution before washing.
Clean and disinfect resident rooms, dining areas, common areas, and public restrooms.
Perform light office cleaning.
Maintain the cleanliness of hallways and entryways.
Remove trash.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
