About The Position

The Laundry Aide processes, cleans, folds, and delivers facility and resident laundry in compliance with infection control standards. The role ensures clean supplies are available to support residents’ comfort and dignity. The Laundry Aide maintains separation of soiled and clean laundry, operates laundry equipment safely, handles residents’ personal laundry carefully, and keeps linen carts and closets organized. The position also supports survey and inspection preparation and promptly reports equipment issues and safety concerns to a supervisor.

Requirements

• Knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Time-management and organizational skills.
• Interpersonal abilities for interacting with residents and staff.
• Dependability, respect for residents, adaptability, and a team-oriented approach.
• Functional literacy and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift 5–40 lbs and push carts up to 300 lbs with assistance.

• Laundry experience in a healthcare or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain separation of soiled and clean laundry in accordance with infection control policies.
• Operate washers and dryers according to facility procedures and manufacturer instructions.
• Handle residents’ personal laundry with care and ensure it is returned to its owners.
• Stock linen carts and closets and keep them organized and accessible.
• Assist with preparation for surveys and inspections.
• Promptly report equipment issues and safety concerns to a supervisor.
