About The Position

The Laundry Aide processes, cleans, folds, and delivers facility and resident laundry in compliance with infection control standards. The role helps ensure clean and sufficient supplies are available to support residents’ comfort and dignity. The position involves operating laundry equipment, handling personal laundry carefully, organizing linens, and supporting survey and inspection preparation.

Requirements

• Functional literacy and the ability to follow instructions.
• Knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Interpersonal abilities for interacting with residents and staff.
• Dependability, respect for residents, adaptability, and a team-oriented approach.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching; lifting 5–40 lbs; and pushing carts up to 300 lbs with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Laundry experience in a healthcare or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain separation of soiled and clean laundry in accordance with infection control policies.
• Operate washers and dryers according to facility procedures and manufacturer instructions.
• Handle residents’ personal laundry with care and ensure it is returned to its owners.
• Stock linen carts and closets, keeping them organized and accessible.
• Assist with preparation for surveys and inspections.
• Promptly report equipment issues and safety concerns to the supervisor.
