About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join the manufacturing team. The role operates lasers to support efficient and accurate production processes. The operator reads blueprints and job orders, loads programs and materials, adjusts machine settings, monitors operation, checks part quality, performs daily machine and gas checks, and maintains safety standards. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.

Requirements

Ability to read part prints and check setup parts against prints.
Familiarity with measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers.
Ability to load and operate lasers as needed to meet production requirements.
After training, ability to analyze laser performance and make necessary adjustments to meet quality and efficiency goals.
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Quick learner with strong attention to detail.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Certified ability to drive and operate a forklift.
Familiarity with laser operation.
One year of previous laser cutting experience.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints or job orders for product specifications, including dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cuts.
Observe machine operation to detect misalignment or malfunctions and ensure machined work meets specifications.
Load programs and adjust settings for cut conditions; load material using a crane or forklift and unload parts or material with help from engineering.
Maintain part quality using various quality checks.
Perform daily maintenance and checks of the machine and gases.
Maintain safety requirements and standards throughout all practices.
