About The Position

Demco is seeking a Laser Operator for its fabrication department. The role focuses on operating lasers and assisting in other fabrication work. Experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to read and accurately use measuring tools and have computer knowledge. The position works Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Fridays as needed. Demco offers competitive compensation and benefits based on skills and expertise, and the position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Requirements

Ability to read and accurately use measuring tools.
Computer knowledge.
Ability to find, print, and understand shop orders, customer orders, and engineers’ drawings.
Ability to operate a forklift, hoist, and crane and follow their operating procedures.
Conscientiousness in following procedures and keeping accurate records.
Ability to work as a team and independently.
Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating lasers or working in fabrication is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Program machinery and lasers to cut, bend, and press parts according to prints.
Load steel onto machinery and lasers using appropriate equipment.
Unload finished parts and stack them according to size, shape, and material.
Accurately enter recorded data into the computer.
Use computer software to arrange parts for cutting in the smallest possible area to maximize material usage.
Find, print, and understand shop orders, customer orders, and engineers’ drawings.
Operate forklifts, hoists, and cranes according to the correct procedures.
Attend required safety training.
Follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
Mentor and train other employees.
Complete jobs consistently and on time.
Work as part of a team and independently with self-motivation.
Look for new and improved ways to do tasks.
Meet reasonable production goals.
Maintain a safe working environment.
