About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Landscaping Crew Member. The role involves performing routine grounds maintenance, operating powered equipment, and assisting with small construction tasks. The position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus, with $350 paid at 60 days and $650 at 6 months of employment. The hourly rate is between $19 and $21.

Requirements

Less than high school education.
At least 6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Knowledge of grounds maintenance and turf equipment operations.
Ability to perform grounds maintenance tasks.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

Performs routine grounds maintenance that may include watering, raking, mowing, weeding, planting, and trash/litter removal.
Operates powered grounds equipment.
Picks up and disposes of litter.
Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls using clippers and edging tools.
Performs weeding activities.
Assists with small construction tasks such as excavating and handling and/or transportation of equipment and materials.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Maintain irrigation systems, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring.
Plan and cultivate lawns and gardens.
Prune and trim trees, shrubs and hedges using shears, pruners and chain saws.
Rake, mulch and compost leaves.
Trim and pick flowers and clean flower beds.
Water lawns, trees and plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses or watering cans.
Install drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences and planters.
Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways and parking lots.
Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters and pruning saws.
Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saw, hedge and brush trimmers and axes.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
