Landscape Foreman (Stormwater)
About The Position
Apex Companies is hiring a Landscape Foreman to support maintenance of stormwater infrastructure on commercial properties. The role plans, directs, and schedules landscaping, routine maintenance, and light repairs for stormwater assets, while leading a crew and ensuring safety requirements are followed. Work includes maintaining retention ponds, detention basins, drainage ditches, stormwater grates, and other infrastructure. The foreman travels from the shop to local and regional client sites in a company truck, with regional travel typically about 15 days per month, Monday through Friday. Lodging and a $55 per diem are provided on travel days. The position is full-time, scheduled for 40–55 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities. Compensation is $22–$24 per hour, depending on experience. The role involves outdoor work in varied weather conditions and physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Apex describes its work as helping protect and improve water quality in local communities.
Requirements
- 2–4+ years of experience with manual labor; outdoor experience is preferred.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally; typically about 15 days per month, Monday through Friday.
- At least 21 years of age due to DOT interstate transportation requirements.
- Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable method of transportation.
- Pass a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting, and to work in a variety of weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in construction, manual labor, or lawn maintenance as a Crew Leader.
- Solid understanding of landscaping equipment and materials.
- Outdoor experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and schedule landscaping, routine maintenance, and light repairs of stormwater infrastructure.
- Lead a crew of 2–4 crew members and communicate and enforce safety regulations.
- Perform mowing, weed-trimming, debris removal, ground maintenance and cleanup, light construction, and maintenance repairs for client properties.
- Operate landscaping and light construction equipment and maintain the equipment trailer.
- Prepare reports and document field work using Apex proprietary systems.
- Travel by company truck from the shop to local and regional client sites.
