Landscape Foreman (Stormwater)
About The Position
Apex Companies is hiring a Landscape Foreman to support maintenance of stormwater infrastructure on commercial properties. The role plans, directs, and schedules landscaping, routine maintenance, and light repairs to stormwater assets, including retention ponds, detention basins, drainage ditches, and stormwater grates. The foreman leads a crew of 2–4, communicates and enforces safety regulations, performs hands-on grounds and maintenance work, operates landscaping and light construction equipment, and documents field work using Apex systems. Work is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with travel from the shop in a company truck to local and regional client sites. Regional travel is typically 10 days per month, Monday through Friday; lodging and a $55 per diem are provided on travel days. The schedule is full-time, 40–55 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities. Compensation is $22–$24 per hour, depending on experience. Candidates should have experience in manual labor or outdoor work, with landscaping or equipment experience preferred. The role requires local and regional travel, a valid driver’s license and safe driving record, and the ability to perform physical tasks and work in varied weather conditions. Applicants must be at least 21 due to DOT interstate transportation requirements and must pass background, motor vehicle record, and drug screening checks.
Requirements
- 2–4 or more years of experience with manual labor; outdoor experience is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally and regionally; regional travel is typically 10 days per month, Monday through Friday.
- At least 21 years of age due to DOT interstate transportation requirements.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable method of transportation.
- Pass a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting, and to work in a variety of weather conditions.

Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and schedule landscaping, routine maintenance, and light repairs of stormwater infrastructure, including retention ponds, detention basins, drainage ditches, grates, and other stormwater assets.
- Lead a crew of 2–4 crew members and communicate and enforce safety regulations.
- Perform mowing, weed-trimming, debris removal, grounds maintenance and cleanup, light construction, and maintenance repairs for client properties.
- Operate landscaping and light construction equipment and maintain the equipment trailer.
- Prepare reports and document field work using Apex proprietary systems.
- Travel from the shop location to local and regional client sites using a company truck.
