About The Position

Waste Connections is an integrated services company providing solid waste collection, transfer, disposal, and recycling services. The Landfill General Laborer Helper supports landfill operations by checking trucks in and out, directing traffic, performing manual cleanup and yard work, installing temporary wind fences, and maintaining office areas. The role emphasizes workplace safety, environmental practices, and finding safe, environmentally sound solutions to service issues with customers and employees.

Requirements

• One year of stable employment history in a similar environment.
• Ability to work the scheduled hours in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Check trucks in and out of the landfill and direct traffic at the site as necessary.
• Perform manual labor, including paper picking and keeping the landfill clean and presentable.
• Perform yard work, including cutting weeds.
• Install temporary wind fences as required.
• Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Interact with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine safe and environmentally sound solutions to service issues.
