About The Position

Avery Dennison is hiring a Lamination Machine Operator to operate label machines properly and efficiently to meet production deadlines according to the daily job schedule. The role is on D shift: Wednesday 1:45 a.m.–8:00 a.m. and Thursday through Saturday 7:75 p.m.–8:00 a.m. The hiring rate is $20 per hour plus a shift differential, and eligible candidates may receive a $500 sign-on bonus. The operator minimizes waste and misuse of raw materials, communicates label-production issues to the Production Supervisor and/or Facility Manager, and performs distribution functions as needed. The position also requires maintaining production and inventory records, using an ERP system to log time and materials, maintaining dies, and keeping a clean, organized, and safe work area. Regular attendance is essential. Overtime or work on another shift may be required. The employee must follow company policies, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and drug-free workplace policies. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One to two years of related experience and/or training.
Strong mechanical skills to analyze and operate label machine equipment.
Ability to stand for two-thirds to all of the shift daily.
Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel for one-third to two-thirds of the shift daily.
Ability to reach with hands and arms for one-third to two-thirds of the shift daily.
Ability to lift 50 pounds for one-third to two-thirds of the shift daily.
Close vision sufficient for clear vision at 20 inches or less.
Color vision sufficient to identify and distinguish colors.
Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values.

Responsibilities

Operate label machines properly and efficiently to meet production deadlines and the daily job schedule.
Minimize waste or misuse of raw materials.
Communicate label production issues with the Production Supervisor and/or Facility Manager.
Perform distribution functions as needed.
Keep accurate logs of raw materials used in label production.
Log carton dates and identification numbers to maintain FIFO inventory and help identify raw-material quality-control problems.
Use the ERP system to log time and materials for each job.
Maintain all dies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; use required PPE and follow safety rules and procedures.
Work overtime or another shift as needed.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Maintain regular attendance and comply with company policies, including safety policies and drug-free workplace requirements.
