About The Position

Interlaken, Inc., a growing WBE-certified site and utility excavation contractor, is seeking experienced, career-minded Laborers for full-time work in the local Portland metro area. The contractor is non-union, and prevailing-wage work is available. Pay depends on experience. Health, retirement, PTO benefits, and employee rewards programs are available.

The role involves supporting site and utility excavation work, including checking grade, using pipe and grade lasers, hand shoveling when necessary, maintaining machines and vehicles, completing paperwork when required, and promoting a safe workplace. Past project types include City of Portland PBOT, BES sewer main, PWB watermain, and Parks work, as well as commercial and residential excavation and utilities.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in underground construction.
• Capability to check grade.
• Proficiency with excavators, backhoes, and other heavy machinery.
• Proficiency with small tools.
• High school diploma or greater.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Flagger card.
• CPR card.
• Self-motivated.
• Safety-minded.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance of machines and vehicles.
• Check grade.
• Use pipe and grade lasers.
• Hand shovel when necessary.
• Complete paperwork when required.
• Promote a safe workplace.
