About The Position

Interlaken, Inc., a growing WBE-certified site and utility excavation contractor, is seeking experienced, career-minded Laborers for full-time work in the local Portland Metro Area. Pay depends on experience, and prevailing-wage work is available. The contractor is non-union.

Laborers perform site and utility excavation work, including maintaining machines and vehicles, checking grade, using pipe and grade lasers, hand shoveling when necessary, completing paperwork when required, and promoting a safe workplace. Past projects include city transportation, sewer main, watermain, parks, and commercial and residential excavation and utility work.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in underground construction.
• Ability to check grade.
• Proficiency with excavators, backhoes, and other heavy machinery.
• Proficiency with small tools.
• High school diploma or greater.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 10 card.
• Flagger card.
• CPR card.
• Self-motivated and safety-minded.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance of machines and vehicles.
• Check grade, including using pipe and grade lasers.
• Hand shovel when necessary.
• Complete paperwork when required.
• Promote a safe workplace.
