About The Position

Interlaken, Inc., a growing site and utility excavation contractor and certified WBE, is seeking experienced, safety-focused, career-minded heavy equipment operators for prevailing-wage excavation and utilities work. The position is full-time and local to the Portland metro area. Pay depends on experience, and prevailing-wage work is available. Interlaken is a non-union contractor. Candidates with substantial drywell experience operating hydraulic clamshell equipment are especially encouraged to apply.

The work includes operating heavy equipment and supporting underground construction projects. Operators perform daily maintenance on machines and vehicles, check grade, use pipe and grade lasers, hand shovel when necessary, complete paperwork when required, and promote a safe workplace. Past projects include City of Portland transportation, sewer, water-main, and parks projects.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in underground construction.
• Ability to check grade.
• Proficiency with excavators, backhoes, and other heavy machinery.
• Proficiency with small tools.
• High school diploma or greater.
• Valid driver's license.
• Self-motivated and safety-minded.

Nice To Haves

• Deep drywell experience operating hydraulic clamshell equipment.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Flagger card.
• CPR certification.
