About The Position

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician for a one-month contract assignment in East Hartford, Connecticut. This position will perform routine laboratory testing and support day-to-day laboratory operations using conventional and computerized laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established testing procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Requirements

Two years of post-secondary education in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related technical/scientific field preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory experience may be considered
Previous experience in a chemical, industrial, quality control, or manufacturing laboratory is preferred
Experience operating laboratory equipment and instruments
Comfortable working with computerized laboratory systems and equipment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established testing procedures
Ability to accurately document testing activities and results

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory tests and other laboratory work according to prescribed procedures and standards
Conduct routine testing to determine the chemical and physical characteristics or composition of materials and samples
Prepare, handle, and organize samples for laboratory testing
Set up, operate, readjust, and monitor laboratory equipment and instruments
Utilize both conventional and computerized laboratory equipment and work aids
Accurately record and document laboratory test results
Follow established testing methods, procedures, and quality standards
Identify unusual test results or equipment issues and communicate them appropriately
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment
Follow all applicable laboratory safety procedures and company policies
